To configure your Yahoo mail in Outlook on Windows , follow these steps:

1. Open Control Panel (Windows+R -> Type control.exe )and click on "Mail(Microsoft Outlook)"

2. Click on Email account -> Click on the icon of New

3. Select "Add Account" and then choose "Manual setup or additional server types."

4. Select "POP or IMAP" and click "Next."

5. Enter the following information:

   • Your Name: Your full name

   • Email Address: Your full Yahoo email address

   • Account Type: IMAP

   • Incoming mail server: imap.mail.yahoo.com

   • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.mail.yahoo.com

6. Click on "More Settings" and then go to the "Outgoing Server" tab.

7. Select the "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" check box and choose "Use same settings as my incoming mail server."

8. Go to the "Advanced" tab and enter the following information:

   • Incoming server (IMAP): 993

   • Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL

   • Outgoing server (SMTP): 465

   • Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL

9. Click "OK" to save the changes and then click "Next."

10. Enter your Yahoo email address and password, and then click "Finish."

11. Your Yahoo email account should now be configured in Outlook and you should be able to send and receive emails.

Note: If you have enabled two-step verification for your Yahoo account, you'll need to generate an app password to use with Outlook.

Go to the website of Yahoo

1. click the menu (gear) button -> go to Account Info.

2. on Account Security -> go to Generate app password .

3. On "App Passwords" -> select Outlook Desktop.

4. Click the Generate and go back to Outlook to paste the app password.

Good morning, unfortunately, it is not working even after Generating a app password. I am receiving the following message: Send test email message: Cannot find the email server. Verify the server information in your account properties.

Try pinging the SMTP server name. It should at least resolve to IP address like this:

Pinging smtp.mail.global.gm0.yahoodns.net [66.163.170.52]

I’m sorry to hear that it is not working for you. I searched for some possible solutions for your error message. And these configuration information works for my personal account. Could you please contact the email support of your current Yahoo provider and ask if any recent changes have been made to the server settings.
